A syllabus for Photography – Digital Focus

The primary goal of this course is to investigate the use of photography as a method for artistic self-expression. We will learn the fundamentals of black and white, color, and digital photography, therefore this class will start out as being particularly technically oriented, however along the way, we will investigate the why and wherefore of our working methods, and will use photography and the computer as another tool, another technology with which to express ourselves.

A syllabus for Art I

This course will provide opportunities to examine, explore, and manipulate several different mediums in art. This will be accomplished through the process of art production, the study of art history, the practice of art criticism, and the exploration of aesthetics in art. The student will begin to understand and apply the artistic process to analyze, interpret, and evaluate art works. The student will begin to understand and use the artistic processes to create original works of art.

A syllabus for Art II

This course will provide opportunities to further develop the skills and techniques learned in Art I. Students will also continue to develop skills needed to analyze and interpret the social and cultural influences in art as well as the expressive, technical and formal properties of art. Finally, the students will be expected to develop a plan to exhibit their artwork. Students will master the ability to understand and apply the artistic process to analyze, interpret, and evaluate art works. The students will master the ability to understand and use the artistic processes to create original works of art.
